To initiate any of the changes below, login to the Public Portal and select KREC LICENSES then click UPDATE RECORD.
Name or Contact Information Changes
Licensees must notify the Commission within 10 days of any change to their name, residence address or email address. Login to the Public Portal to update your name and/or contact information.
Affiliation Changes
Move LicenseLogin to the Public Portal, click KREC LICENSES then select "Update Record" next to your license record. Select "MOVE LICENSE" and follow the instructions to move your affiliation from one company to another or from a main office to a branch and vice versa.
Use License Search to verify the affiliation change is effective before performing real estate activities for the new company.
Licensees restricted to the terminating broker must provide a copy of the Restriction Order to the new broker. The new broker must submit the Broker Acknowledgment Letter indicating they've read the order and are willing to supervise the licensee.
There is no fee to change your affiliation.
Add or Remove Affiliation
Login to the Public Portal, click KREC LICENSES then select "Update Record" next to your license record. Select "ADD AFFILIATION" or "REMOVE AFFILIATION" and follow the instructions to add or remove an additional company or branch office affiliation. Salespersons may only affiliate with multiple offices if they are supervised by the same Broker. At least one affiliation is required to remain on active status.
Status Changes
Reactivation
Login to the Public Portal, click KREC LICENSES then select "UPDATE RECORD" next to your license record. Select "Reactivation" and follow instructions to change a license from inactive to active status. Continuing education requirements must be met. Licensees requesting reactivation after two full years on inactive status will be subject to additional education requirements. Licensees requesting reactivation after five full years must retake the license examination in addition to completing any additional continuing education hours.
Deactivation
Login to the Public Portal, click KREC LICENSES and select "Update Record" next to your license record. Select "REMOVE AFFILIATION" and follow instructions to remove your existing affiliations and change your license from active to inactive status. A deactivation can be initiated by the licensee OR the supervising broker at any time. A licensee cannot perform activities requiring a Kansas real estate license while on inactive status.
There is no fee to place a license on inactive status.
An inactive license will expire if not renewed.
