Salesperson and Broker
Salespersons and Brokers must complete 12 hours to renew to active status, including at least 3 mandatory hours in an approved course titled "Kansas Required Core". Code of Ethics is not required by KREC.
Please Note: CE taken as a salesperson prior to the issuance of your Kansas broker's license will not count.
Licensees are limited to a single three-hour appraisal-type course per renewal period.
Reactivation of a License
All continuing education required for reactivation must be on record with the Commission. Login to your record to verify hours completed in the current renewal cycle. To verify hours completed in previous cycles, contact the Commission.
If the license is on inactive status for
- less than two years and was renewed without all 12 hours, the hours must be completed prior to reactivation.
- two or more years, six hours for each full year on inactive status must be completed in addition to the 12 hours required for the immediate past renewal period.
- five or more years, the exam must be passed in addition to the education requirements listed above.
Individual Request for CE
Requests must be received 15 days prior to license expiration date. Licensees must complete the Kansas Required Core course, but may receive credit for up to nine elective hours if:
- the course was completed after the issue date of the Kansas license;
- the course was completed within the current Kansas license renewal period; and
- the licensee submits the Individual CE Request Form, fee, and all required documentation by logging in to the Public Portal and following these directions.
The following materials must be included for all courses:
- Course outline
- Course completion certificate signed by the course sponsor or instructor
Distance Education must also include:
- Online (self-paced) - must include proof of passing score of 90% or better on exam or quiz questions
- Webinar (live video) - must include school’s policy for students to be present and engaged on camera for entirety of course
Do not use this form for courses listed in the Directory of Approved CE Providers and Courses above. Contact the education provider to issue your Kansas course completion certificate to ensure Kansas requirements are met.
- Credit is not granted for property management courses or substituted for the Kansas Required Core;
- If denied, you must complete another course prior to your license expiration date. Check CE here.
